About

Elias + (formerly Elias and Associates) has worked with the private and public sector providing professional landscape architecture, planning and urban design services since 1992. The firm has always pursued a conceptual approach, producing designs that combine artistic spirit, humour, and material experimentation. Each project evolves from extensive research, problem solving, and sensitivity to site and client needs. The firm has pursued a multidisciplinary approach that develops sophisticated relationships between building and landscape and addresses social, urban design, and ecological issues. Elias + has earned a strong reputation for its commitment to innovative design and its ability to build within tight budgets without sacrificing artistic integrity, craftsmanship, attention to detail and quality of construction. We contribute our success to combining practical experience with attention to client objectives and programmatic needs.

The office is structured to enable a co-operative team approach which mediates between outside consultants and the client, allowing us to work with diverse groups in a variety of design settings. This ensures client involvement, strong public process, clear communication and the ability to respond to user groups.

In 2008, Elias + expanded their services from landscape only to include interior design. With a vast knowledge and expertise in this field, the transition was seamless and a natural extension of existing services as witnessed by their two Canadian Interiors Best of Canada Design Awards.

Since its inception, Elias + has been an award winning firm. Most recently, the firm has received the American Institute of Architects Award of Excellence, the City of Vaughan Urban Design Award of Merit, the Toronto Architecture and Urban Design Award of Excellence, two Canadian Interiors Best of Canada Design Awards, the Canadian Architect Award of Excellence, the LEED Canada NC-1.0 Silver Award, the CSLA Regional Merit Award, an Honorable Mention from the City of Toronto Architecture and Urban Design Awards, an Honourable Mention from the National Post Design Exchange Awards and the City of Toronto Green Architecture Award.
